Introducing my 1982 Royal Burgundy T-40!...

Post  BrandonS on Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:06 pm

I purchased this (complete with original case) a few weeks ago. Today I finally received the "mystery switch" from digi-tek (thanks for the great links, and these switches look just like the originals!) and now it sounds wonderful and is fully functional! (the bridge pickup was not working as the 'mystery switch" was busted).

1st, thanks to Tony for exchanging emails and helping me with the instrument!

Now, the color. Simply wonderful! It is slightly transparent and the woodgrain is visible underneath. For being 29 years old and having a few nicks here and there it simply looks fantastic.
Being passive it has the 'hottest' pickups I've ever experienced. I thought my P-Bass sounded 'big'... it has nothing on the T-40!
Can't wait to take it to rehearsal with the band Smile

Enjoy the pics!

Brandon,
That color looks amazing on your T-40.
The fact that it's somewhat transparent is really appealing.
Congrats.

Looks great ! Would the mystery switch be the phaser switch ? My phaser switch is broken too, and my bridge pickup is not working, but I'm almost certain that the pickup is gone either way. I can't get any resistance at all when I ohm it. Handing the guitar over to a technician today.
